Yeah Smith's already stepped down to let Rudd in to Foreign Affairs and avoid any drama.

Has the media in Australia changed since I left, then? I remember it being incredibly pro-Coalition.

Edit: but I'm a left-wing-pinko-commo-bastard, so I'm bound to think that, obviously. Also laughing at the 'country being in a mess' comments. Felt that way to me for my last 11 years in Australia tbh.

When it became clear as to who would form the new government, 3/4 major banks immediately increased interest rates on development finance by 2%

The obvious result of this move will be higher house prices and rents due to lower supply not to mention the flow on effects in the general economy

    And that's just one example

But that's ok because now we' have better parliamentary process

Cool man. In the future let's just have the banks choose the government.

You're entitled to your opinion, but you're sensationalist posts every now and then are quite comical.

    No, it's still wildly pro-conservative.

All electronic and print media is run out of Liberal HQ.

Pasag did you see my link about focus groups.

Thought you'd find it interesting, what with you being a quantitative data research whore and what not.

Yep, saying that a person has less political legitimacy as PM when they need they support of independents and minor parties, than someone with a thumping majority...that equates to saying I want nobody to be PM for the next three years.

    You got me.

    I said 'less' legitimacy.

I mean, so as not to hurt people's feelings, does a person have to preface every comment with disclaimers so as not to hurt people's feelings.

Maybe I should have prefaced it with the disclaimer: 'the same would apply if Abbott had have won the support of the independents. He would have had less political legitimacy than if he won with a majority in his own right'.

Lest you get offended. I mean, for a guy who refers to the Liberal party as 'scum/filth', you're pretty precious.

But, there you go, there is my disclaimer for just for you.
