No Newspoll this week.

Looks therefore like there will be no more public polling before the Election is called.

Saturday - First Abbott gaffe
Sunday - Howardj sails leaky boat into Western Sydney
Reckon that an Abbott gaffe will happen before Saturday, personally.

Looking pretty good otherwise, though.

It'll be enough come 28 August, or whenever the poll is called.

52-48 wins everytime.

By polling day, their vote will be through the floor at this rate. Any honeymoon effect has now gone.

My finely tuned political antennae is detecting that Labor, in changing leaders in Government yet again, may have tried to be too sneaky/tricky just one too many times.

Abbott's honeymoon will end once he's forced to announce his policies, then explain them.

As you said, not a details man is Tone.

Can see the Bernie Banton ads now......

Bring it.

For those who think that Tony Abbott will get in, look at Mark Latham.

What do people make of East Timor telling Gillard to go shove her plans to build a detention centre there? I say good on them.

I ask what's the point of having our own tinpot surrogate nation if they can't be relied on to toe the line when required. Whitlam was right.

Great Q&A tonight. Pyne didn't tear up, which was disappointing, but any show where you get John Elliott having a go at how anyone handles sexual assault as an issue, a Liberal front bencher predicting that Tony Abbott could smoke a crocodile in a fair fight, and Scott Ludlum responding to a question about Paul the Psychic Octopus with a plea to release him from captivity is full of win.

The judge did a predictable job of depantsing the convoluted political 'logic' on several of the views expressed around her.

Amongst the crap tweets there was a pretty good one about the asylum seekers issue - "the current political debate is surreal, circular, and rotten".

I've never understood this comparison really. Granted, they both are a bit aggressive, but Abbott is a proven minister and is in no way the risk that Latham was.
