In any case I don't care - I stick to ABC

Not that I think it makes it any more newsworthy, but yes I think it would have. Might not have been as explosive, but still would have caused his ministerial downfall.

Do you honestly not see the issue here?

Campbell paraded himself as a sound family man all throughout his electorate (in which I live), only for him to be exposed as an untrustworthy, cheating liar.

How could any voter trust him if his own family can't?

To be fair to him though, he has handled it like a man. Full credit to him for facing the media in what must be a horrible time for him and his family. doesn't change the fact that he's a lying cheat though.

Is it really resignation material though? I mean, being a cheater is not great, but let the voters decide. He shouldn't have to resign from Cabinet.

Regardless, I think the whole affair (pun not intended) stinks and has the distinct whiff of homophobia about it.

Morgan 50.5 to 49.5 face-to-face.

Was conducted before Abbott's confessional though.

I actually did an essay about 5 years ago about Defamation law, and whether 'public interest' should be a requirement, or if 'truth' is enough.

Poll Bludger and Possum the two best psepho sites going imo, but even I find some of the posts on PB way OTT.

Possum's analysis of the data is unbelievable tbh.

It's possible that his wife knew of his behaviour and he had to apologise to her due to the amount of media it has caused and the fact that people frown on him not having a monogomous relationship. It seems plausible given that this has been going on for the last 25 years apparently.

Has he ever campaigned on "family values" or just claimed that he's a family man and posed in photos with his family? Could still be an excellent father tbh.

If he's been elected by running a conservative "family values" agenda then it's a problem.

I find the media's treatment of this and the fact that for political reasons he needed to resign very concerning.
