We could just pump a whole lot of sulphur dioxide into the stratosphere and be done with it.

God I'm sad. Actually love Question Time being back.

The government letting Abbott move this debate may be the smartest thing it's done in quite some time. Pissed off they've given him so much free air of late. Time for the strangle me thinks.

Haha - Pyne's face is gold - it's like "WTF are you doing Tony?" God I love this ****.

The AFL better not take him to a Collingwood match as has been suggested. He'll think awfully of us Australians.

Yeah that's right Matt I said it.

It's all about black and white working together... If he wanted to see Richmond style dysfunction, he'd go visit Karzai in Afghanistan.

Come now, even on the streets of Kabul they struggle to find suicide bombers as lethal as Terry Wallace. Even Mao's Great Leap was a comparative improvement on one of Terry's five year plans.

If Obama wants to see a real depression, he should spend an afternoon in Adelaide. Would be the longest week of his life...

Heh, AG Mick Atkinson has had a tough week or so.

First, totally pointless, unpoliceable amendments to the electoral act to rough up dissenters;

Censoring free speech in the secret state | Adelaide Now

Then, an apparent pseudonym used as an example of a Liberal shill on the AdelaideNow site is actually a real person who not only lives on the same road as Atkinson's office but has had previous involvement with the office itself;

Michael Atkinson, meet Aaron Fornarino. He lives near your office and yes, he does exist | Adelaide Now

And now, somewhat embarrassingly, he vows to repeal it retrospectively after the election;

Attorney-General Michael Atkinson vows to repeal election internet censorship law amid reader furore | Adelaide Now

To me, the biggest news to come out of this was the lack of debate when the amendment was installed in the first place.... I mean, really? Atkinson's a douche, especially when it comes to computer stuff but that's expected. Where were all the other pollies when this was passing through?

Those laws are appalling tbh. A lot of political bloggers are particularly upset by them. Fair enough too imo.

For me, this is the real danger. When something is beneficial to both sides of a political spectrum it generally finds it's way into law. It suits both major political parties to silence dissent.

Real question is, where were the Greens?
