Bet they get a bounce next polling round because of the asylum seeker issue.

It's the elephant in the room. Neither Rudd nor Turnbull personally believe their repective stances are right, but there are too many votes in it.

It's a good thing for labor that Sharman Stone has the opposition gig for immigration.

Anyone see Justine Elliot in QT on Tuesday? Had this fantastic power suit on and great legs too. Just looks a handful in the cot tbh.
May take over from Julie Owens as my personal fave (aside from Kate Ellis, which is a given of course).

Just find this whole issue so disgusting. Chance for leadership here Kev - ah, not this close to an election.

As Crikey says...both Rudd and Turnbull are probably unhappy with the position they have to take on behalf of their party but there's too many votes to be lost if they proposed anything different.

Enjoying watching the control freak preside over something he can't control.

It's much better than the Pacific Solution of course. lol

It's good to hear a liberal fan admit it's out of his control

You're probably right though, I can see problems arising from this issue for Kevin Rudd. Especially if Indonesian intervention is inadequate or too heavy-handed. The Libs might keep things on an even keel over the issue though.

Anyone see Q & A last night? Who was that narky bitch next to Tony Abbott who kept throwing her hands around? Not an Abbott fan but he displayed remarkable control imo.

And yes, Coco, that pun was awful!

Catherine Devney, social commentator in The Age (don't know if she appears in the SMH). Very different individual.

She needs to wake up to herself. That "Get your rosaries off my ovaries" stuff to Abbott before he'd even uttered a word on the criminalisation of abortion (he's for de-criminalistion btw) was appalling.

Yeah she was annoying. Tony Abbot did show incredible constraint though, credit to him for that.

The other woman was a bit annoying too.

Bill Shorten was impressive again too.

Next weeks show should be great with Graham Richardson, Maxine McKew, David Marr, Joe Hockey and Kerry Chikarovski!

Social commentator from the Age in out of touch loonie shocker

good to see some elements of the Spencer St Commartariat intact.

Stereotypes about papers aside Deveney is consistently a shocker.

Bill Shorten is an impressive man, but I fear he's far too reasonable for contemporary politics. That being so, he explains things rationally and in a measured tone.

In other words, he doesn't give good sound bites and therefore won't cut it as leadership material (though I think he'd be excellent tbh).

Knocking up the GGs daughter will surely work against him come leadership challenge.
