Is China one of those places you go to and when you come back you'll say you love it?

Wayne Swan is a scumbag. I just watched Costello's speech on an Australian news internet site and Swan didn't look up at Costello the whole time. Kevin Rudd and Julie Gillard showed class in their kind words, but Swan didn't even show respect. He didn't look as Costello's speech and looked angered by Costello's remarks that Australia is in a good situation to handle to global economic crisis.

Men, they have genuine ideological differences and Costello hasn't exactly been backwards in trying to assassinate Swan's credibility, intellect and competance. Reckon it would be worse to put on a fake display of respect or warmth if there is none there. He refrained from heckling or dancing a jig.

I reckon the GDP figures, released earlier this month which showed we avoided recession, made up Costello's mind. He knows that, without the Rudd Recession, the Liberals can't win in 2010. Toppling a one-term government is hard enough (only been done once). Toppling them when they've steered good ship Australia clear of the recessionary iceberg is nigh impossible.

The newspoll was good news today for the Lib's, back to election results on two party prefered. Rudd down 10% in approval over the last 3 months and the Bull up 5%. Primary 41% Labor, 40% Coalition.

Plenty of material for the Libs out there as like the cash payments, some of the other stimulus will be misspent in the cash splash 'spend now think later' bonanza. The election is gone but not the make up of the senate.

That didn't stop Rudd saying that despite their ideological differences, he respected the fact that Mr Costello was part of parliament for 20 years. Swan didn't left his head... he was reading something while parliament paid tribute.

Think you're spot on. He looked slightly eager when the recession seemed to be coming our way. Not so much when things were looking up.

    a) the stimulus package boosted GDP with money 4 free! Mickey-mouse on the job creation front, but stemmed the bleeding momentarily whilst we pay it off for 10+ years.

    b) the big exporters to china locked in 12 month futures on commodities, so whilst world prices were declining massively, the goods were selling for well over market price. Thus the 5.1 billion trade surplus was a result, and recently these contracts were cut by 40%+ of 08 prices.

So instead of importing stuff from China, NSW is just going to import stuff from another large mass-producing country?
    Or something.
