we've had the business recession, now for the reality to hit home once it's not just students unemployed, given our lucrative 1yr trade contracts with China have ended. (credit defaults to rise?) I must say im quite dissapointed that he is going, was hoping that he would take over if the Libs lost the next election.

It's a good thing for the Liberal Party imo. They need to develop their own identity without a relic like Costello confusing the issue. His time was right after the election loss.

Now they just need to lose people skills Abbott.

Everything the NSW government does comes across as a big non-event for me. Liberals will win with a comfortable majority come the next election. Verity Firth will lose her seat to the Greens as well.

Sad in a way to see Costello go. Still he did his country a great disservice by being too gutless to pick up the knife circa 2000. Would have been a better country if he, not Howard has presided over the second half of the Libs reign.
