    It's unfortunate that politics is a killing field for personality. I voted Labor, but I don't want to hear any speeches from anyone for a while...concession, victory, or otherwise.

    Life as normal will continue for me. Can't see the change of govenment impacting my life too heavily. The 2 political parties are far too similar these days.

    Yeah agree with regard to the concession speech. I hated him less than I ever have when he was making that speech. Still a **** though.

    Haha, I couldn't hear some of his concession speech over people shouting insults at him, but it seemed reasonable. Howard has always been a PM interested in his legacy more than espousing any specific ideology, unlike most of our PMs since Menzies... at least the longer serving ones. His concession speech was in line with that, and it was fairly gracious and so on.
