Flipping between the two, back function on Foxtel is gun. Mike Kelly has the greatest 'tache in Australian politics, it must be said.

Only got ABC, 7, 9 choice. Stick with ABC most the night. Ray Martin really is boring.

Channel 7's coverage has been utterly crap. Relied on stupid gimmicks and flashy graphics all night. Been watching 9...Laurie Oaks ftw.

It's pretty cool voting for the first time, and actually knowing your vote counts, having helped Mike Symon win in Deakin. Can't wait for Howard's speech.

Howard has phoned Rudd to concede defeat. Love that Howard stayed on to lose.

I'm in a safe Labor so I'm not all that exhilerated.

My senate vote for Greens sound like it may turn into a positive.

We will be back; Work Choices will be back. Costello will rule; Fuller will cry. Looking forward to Fuller crying more than anything else TBH.

Excellent concession speech from Howard, I thought. Although I voted for Labor and didn't want to see the Coalition getting back in, I can't share the same delight and excitment of some of those here at the results.

The population of Australia would drop by 50% imo if Costello were to be the Prime Minister.

Please, please, please....please, please, please...please, please, please.

I think he got a bit carried away with our economy being 'the envy of the rest of the world'...it's a throwaway line for those who think travelling is going to the local supermarket and back and will therefore believe it. Our economy is good...but I think saying it's the best is stretching it.

It wasn't a bad speech however...
