It's a decent list, but I've seen most of the ones I'd want to watch that they have. I'll probably do a month once in a blue moon when I feel like watching In the Mood for Love again or something.

And smalishah's avatar is the most classy one by far Jan certainly echoes the sentiments of CW

Yeah we don't crap in the first world; most of us would actually have no idea what that was emanating from Ajmal's backside. Why isn't it roses and rainbows like what happens here? PEWS's retort to Ganeshran on Daemon's picture depicting Ajmal's excreta

La Llorona is a steaming pile of crap. Even copious weed couldn't save it.

LOL No redeeming features whatsoever, then.

It's comes up a bit short on English language films, and in general it's pretty barren when it comes to films of the last 20 years or so.

Goldmine for Japanese, Italian, French, Swedish films though. Working my way through Bergman's stuff, plus the remaining Kurosawa's I haven't seen. Ran was great, Hidden Fortress and Throne of Blood were very good as well.

How do you rate the Kurosawas? I'm a sucker for Rashomon and Ran.

    1. Rashomon 9/10
    2. Seven Samurai 9/10
    3. Ran 9/10
    4. High and Low 8.5/10
    5. Throne of Blood 8/10
    6. The Hidden Fortress 8/10
    7. Ikiru 8/10
    8. Sanjuro 7.5/10
    9. Yojimbo 7/10

Probably something like that. Yojimbo is probably my only real against the grain rating. I liked its sequel and other adaptations better (A Fistful of Dollars, Django).

I'd have Ikiru and Yojimbo right up there too. I think Yojimbo is better than Fistful of Dollars but I love them both

I somehow got into a situation where I was forced to watch the Hobbit films and Lord of the Rings. I'm up to The Two Towers (eagerly waiting to see if Helm's Deep is as good as the GoT crowd have said) after having watched the Hobbit films to follow the chronological order of events. I didn't expect to like them, but I'm pleasantly surprised. The battles have been decent, character arcs fun etc. Has anyone else entered fantasy films with a perhaps snobby scepticism and been surprised like that?

I don't know, I thought with the Hobbit being earlier, it'd make it easier to follow the story haha.

It's like watching the Star Wars movies in episodic order, the quality and vision only decreases.
