So I had a choice of watching Vice or Mule last week and I watched Vice based on mediocre reviews for Mule. Last night I ended up watching it anyway and I think the reviews were overly harsh. It's a good flick just not as good as some of Eastwood's older titles.

Spider-Man into the Spiderverse is great. I love the animation style, humour and heart are spot on, and the music was superb.

It does a good job of making you aware of the game mechanics, and how you're thinking about your decisions, but I'm not sure it's in service of anything more than that, which is a shame.

If you're watching it as an episode of TV first, you might be pretty disappointed. But if you get into the metagame of it, it's really good fun. The Netflix ending is particularly great.
I enjoyed it but at the same time had a distinct feeling of being played, which is half the point I think. Amount of times I went "oh **** off" was well into double digits. What i thought was the 'proper' ending was bittersweet.

Watched an excellent Danish suspense movie called The Guilty last night. It's set entirely in an emergency services call centre, and the "action" takes place over a series of phone calls. Terrific tension throughout and a couple of gut-wrenching twists towards the end. Three thumbs up.

Itís comfortably the best Spider-Man film, close to the best comic book film and possibly the best animated film Iíve ever seen.

Have you reached the 100 yet? Rather enjoyed that thread.

This might well be the 100th, I’ll need to get back to the list.

Haven’t seen Aquaman or Venom yet.

Edit: I'm actually up to 97, and it'll be 99 when I watch the other two.

Really surprised to see Aquaman cross $1 billion. Who would've thought this would happen after the Justice League disaster.

Both this and Homecoming are very very good, but Into the Spider-verse has so much visual flair and creativity that yeah, I'd probably agree it's the best. Really makes me wonder how good the Lord and Miller solo film might've been.

I hope Spider-Verse has the legs to take it to 350+. Sometimes film can be so frustrating when the genuinely great movies don't seem to actually earn any money.

Even with just $300m, I think Sony will have turned a tidy profit on it. Although I agree I'd have loved it to do a little better.
