Went to go watch Django Unchained on Christmas (day of release). The theatre was packed. The movie was pretty good, but then again, I'm a pretty big fan of Tarantino's Spaghetti Westerns.
The first half was gripping. However, it felt slightly stretched towards the end. Here, Tarantino's trouble with pacing is evident. Jamie Foxx seemed to be a bit of a misfit, in my opinion. But Christoph Waltz was as brilliant as ever, as solid a performance as that in Inglourious Basterds. Will be in nyc this weekend, so may catch Zero Dark Thirty. I definitely don't want to wait till Jan 11th for its nationwide release. |

I loved it...epic...I've missed movies like this. I think it'll split a lot of people - either hate or love it - but I think people who understand why a movie like Citizen Kane is brilliant are the types to cherish it.

I enjoyed the connections between the timelines. Quite a lot of them from the obvious to the very subtle. It was also interesting to see the cause and effect as you went from one timeline to another.
