Wow, 4 Billion, for a film franchise. Lucas hits the jackpot!

Looking forward to future Star Wars films.

So Episode VII slated for 2015 release - interesting to see if they try to bridge the gap by getting the Hamill/Ford/Fisher triumvirate (plus assorted available supporting acts) back as pensioners to pass the torch or if they just go with a clean slate for the cast.

Daniel Craig still not in the same league as Connery despite the hype.
Without wishing to ruin the film quite as completely as Grecian has here and give any kind of full review, I saw it last Friday and personally thought it was bloody magnificent.

I won't make a definitive comparison with the 22 Bond films which have come before as I need to see how it holds up on repeat viewings, but I'll be surprised if it doesn't settle comfortably very near the top of my 007 tree.

well yeah although it is hard to go that far back and compare..i guess people who started following the franchise in the 60s, 70s and 80s will always have a soft corner for connery but i think craig has already been a better bond than all the others including moore...

hamill and fisher can be brought back as yoda-type characters since the "force" will obviously prolong their lives...it won't be that easy with ford...unless of course he is cryogenically frozen again...

He wont direct them but he will be executive producer and sometimes executive producer has more creative control than director.

Well, I was brought up on Moore, but watching back love Connery much more. I haven't watched this film, despite my expert review or QoS, so I'm just going on CR, and yeah, he's better than most.

Oh dear, more horrific dialogue, and hokey plots then.

Yep, Connery > Moore by a mile. Connery didn't have A View To A Kill.

Re: Star Wars, I thought the plot of #3 was OK. Could have been way, way worse and did actually work as a prequel.

Some of the dialogue was ear-bleedingly bad, though. Have read stories written by fourteen year olds that are less cliched than his attempts at romance.

I watched two films tonight The Artist for the first time, gosh was I bored, cute dog though. Return of The Living Dead the other one for the first time in 20 odd years, epic. Trash still the sexiest zombie ever. The soundtrack is epic too.

Interestingly enough Jewel Shepard was in both films, I noticed on IMDB, blink and you miss her in The Artist though.

Watched Mystic River last night after reading the book a couple of weeks back. Excellently done, faithful to the book, well casted and just ****ing good tbh.

I've done the same thing recently, was very faithful apart from the age of the participants, but TBH, Penn and Robbins are so good, you can understand why they went for older.

Yeah and it wasn't really something that impacted the story as told in the film. Had the book sitting there for years but never read it until I went away recently and now I'm not sure why. Will be reading more of Lehane's stuff.
