I think Nolan's greatest attribute as a director is picking the right actor for the part, and often an unexpected choice. Who'd of thought Heath Ledger would be a good joker? He was fantastic, and despite what you think of Nolan's films Heath Ledger's Joker has to be one of the best performances in recent cinema history. Absolutely astounding. Voice aside, Tom Hardy does a fantastic job as Bane.

On a personal note I loved Dark Knight Rises, preferred Dark Knight, but agree with most sentiment that it is a top tier trilogy.

Am I the only one who had no problem understanding Bane?

Haha, fun reading that.

I actually didn't find out until just a couple of weeks before TDK came out. The conversation went something like:

I wonder who's playing Joker?
Wait, are you serious? It's Heath Ledger.
Wow really? That should be interesting.
Yeah... you do know he died right?
What?!
Where the hell have you been?!

Going in, I thought his performance was probably being overhyped. I was wrong obviously.

So, Cloud Atlas is due for release in a few months. Some of the scenes from it look pretty interesting, quite shocked at how successful they've been in keeping a lid on it.

Same here. Solid conclusion, slightly cornny with the whole Robin line but hey it's a movie about a ****ing dude in a magic bat suit, I can live with that.
