Utu has such a great last scene
just saw Fast 5........was such a gun movie especially the part where they bet a million dollars on a quarter mile race
And smalishah's avatar is the most classy one by far Jan certainly echoes the sentiments of CW
Yeah we don't crap in the first world; most of us would actually have no idea what that was emanating from Ajmal's backside. Why isn't it roses and rainbows like what happens here? PEWS's retort to Ganeshran on Daemon's picture depicting Ajmal's excreta
NZ Film Festival Summary
The Guard - The new offering from the makers of In Bruges. Brendan Gleeson is superb, the humour is irreverent and offbeat. Don Cheadle is superb too. Had me in stitches at times. Highly recommended
Submarine - Directed by Richard Ayoade from the IT Crowd. Kind of like a Welsh Wes Anderson film - very much an ensemble piece. Quite funny at times, if a little bit silly. Good fun.
The Forgiveness of Blood - Superb Albanian film about a blood feud between two neighbouring families that forces one family to remain confined to their house. Great acting by an amateur cast and some lovely cinematography.
Once Upon a Time in Anatolia - Long winded, slow burning winner of the Palme D'or. Some excellent camera work again, but it doesn't really seem to go anywhere. The main character (possibly, wasn't entirely sure), the Doctor had a great voice and presence, but nearly nodded off a couple of times.
Play - Swedish film. Very odd. Fixed camera in most scenes was an interesting technique, but just looked cheap. About African child gangs in Gothenburg, stealing mobile phones. Was kind of interesting, but I wouldn't recommend it.
Fascist Dictator of the Heath Davis Appreciation Society
Supporting Petone's Finest since the very start - Iain O'Brien
Also Supporting the All Time #1 Batsman of All Time Ever - Jacques Kallis and the much maligned Peter Siddle.
Vimes tells it how it is:
13 Assassins - the film you wanted to see most of all but weren't allowed off the leash to go see.
Gutted I missed it. Being busy sucks. Seeing Metropolis this weekend with friends, can't wait.
President of SKAS - Kat is King | Proud member of CVAAS - One of the best | LRPLTAS - Rosco rocks!
R.I.P. Fardin & Craig
Got round to seeing The Social Network last night. Really good I thought.

Just got back from The Inbetweeners movie .... Brilliant.
Wrong on so many levels which makes it oh so right.
Watched 'The Chaser' on Youtube (it's still there if you want to see it). One of the best Korean films I have seen. Really horrific, I highly recommend that you watch it.
just watched One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest on iPlayer, man I love that movie. Jack Nicholson is a gun.
In some comforting news, Josh Brolin has signed on to star in Spike Lee's adaptation of Oldboy with Christian Bale rumored to possibly sign on as the antagonist. Oldboy is one of my favorite movies ever and when I heard that spike lee was behind the american remake, I wasn't entirely excited. Hopefully he is able to lockdown a very good cast.
Spike Lee? Urrrgh
