Saw Unstoppable tonight. I was pleasantly surprised. The film has a fast pace to it and gives you a thrill a minute. Denzel is great as the old veteran having to put up with the annoying rookie and the run-away train. Oh the movie is filled with the cliche characters and an extremely implausible plot ("inspired by true events' my ass!). But it still had me hooked from the moment the train got loose. The relatively short run time is also a plus point. Worth a watch IMHO.
Decidedly meh. Imo.
Yeh. Too much meh in it overpowers any of the woohoo's.
The scenes are too long and stretched out and I've seen Tarantino do much better with other movies in this sense. I generally dislike genre spoofs and I dont like the humourous laid back feel mixed into what should be essentially a war movie. Kills the impact of some scenes somehow although I'm fairly sure that it was intentionally done this way.
As for the acting, Christoph Waltz is possibly the only one who produces an exceptionally good performance although I'd say Melanie Laurent was pretty good as well. And I hope no one mentions Pitt as that performance of his was about as charming as driftwood.
There are bits and pieces which I liked but found it lacking depth and the ending somehow was a bit of an anti-climax. On the whole I think my expectations may have been too high I reckon.

So Harry Potter's out tomorrow. Anyone else seen the alternate trailer?
"Your averages, captain, coaches and players can probably survive incompetence over a relatively short series, so if youíre going to be rubbish, make sure itís against Pakistan, Sri Lanka, New Zealand or someone."
Haha, thought it was going to be a link to this one tbh. Saw it today though, awesome movie, definitely worth the watch.
Just saw the South Korean movie called "The Chaser". AWESOME movie. Best thriller I've seen in ages.
