Animal Kingdom is comfortably the best Australian movie I've ever seen. Well that and The Castle, but they're completely different genres.

Amazing screenplay, and so well acted. Loved it.

Cannot speak highly enough of it actually.

But the fact it was a comedy made it so much better. We'd have The Insider, this one was so unique.

And it allowed Matt Damon to put on one of his best performances ever

Don't think it worked that well tbh.

What do you mean? As in you didn't find it funny, or you like many others, had no idea it was a comedy and expected an awesome thriller?

Nah, basically I thought it was awkwardly placed between an outright comedy and a black comedy. So on the one hand it wasn't that funny but on the other hand it wasn't subtle enough either. Don't see how anyone could think it's a thriller if they saw the poster or front cover of the dvd.

Haha that was my exact thought when like 10 people left the cinema when I went and saw it. Surely you saw the poster and realised this wasn't another Bourne-like flick.

Now The Green Zone, they'd have guessed right on that one

Because films have to fit into these genres perfectly otherwise people can't enjoy it...

I finally got around to watching Goodfellas. If recorded today it would be MA and not R I reckon.

Bloody good movie. I think that the protagonist is/was a creep in real life though.

I consider it the best movie of the '90's. Have seen it countless times and watch it engrossed each time I see it again.

Looks awful. Don't give a **** about the acting but the 80's fight choreography is just pathetic. Amazing that American films still don't get how to do fights.
