Cyclones

Its the cold dry season up here in Darwin, but who cares, I take an intrest in cyclones, and I am some of us at Cricket Web heard about Cyclone Monica that nearly hit Darwin...

Yep and Cyclone Larry as well which destoryed parts of Nort hQueensland.

I remember seeing a picture of a fence pailing being through a palm tree (and it was high up too)!

Anyway Cyclones are over-rated, typhoons (or what ever they are called in Japan and in South East Asia) are much better

I was in Flordia last year when Hurricane Ophelia(I think) hit, its was crazy the streets were empty, all windows were boarded up and the calm before it hit was eerie. But it didn't hit as hard as expected thankfully and there wasnt very much damage. But driving through miami the next all the palm trees were skewered but it could have been alot worse and the news was predicting it to be a similar strength to Katrina.

I was in Jamaica after Ivan, remarkably lucky considering the damage that could have been caused.. Really eerie being in the only hotel that was operational though..
