That was hilarious (though it would've been better if it actually went to air).

The clip should have included the introduction, where he explains all the different ways he has tried to break up with his woman and he had to resort to this. That made it much funnier IMO.

If I were the producer I would have shown it anyway, screw it if I got fired, it would make it even more funnier

Is that what you did at your last job?

Its defintley real. But I dont understand why it was never aired, I thought Chaser went out live. Perhaps there is a few minute delay.

Wait, I am wrong. I found this on the Chaser forum:

Quote:
It's funny how stories spread these days.

We've taken calls this week from people in all parts of the world about an interview we supposedly conducted on the show.

During the segment, it seems our guest is about to propose to his girlfriend but instead he launches into some very blue language. We go to a break quickly, because it's pretty strong stuff. Well, we are a family show!

On face value, it's a very funny clip - because it looks like the segment went to air LIVE. The truth is somewhat different. It was actually a planned skit for ABC's The Chaser.

We're thinking about hiring these boys as our new publicists, because it's unbelievable how many people have now received the clip in their in-box. It's spread through law firms, television stations, interior design companies, bus depots.. you name it.

It just goes to show how effective viral marketing can be. We have no idea who first sent the clip out - but plenty of people have now asked us: was that for real?

So for the record, no it wasn't real - but it was funny. All credit to the Chaser. And if you haven't seen it yet, I'm sure someone will send it your way soon.

I've spent the day going through tapes from our Kokoda expedition. Boy, it brings back some memories. It's great seeing the human side of two of our highest profile pollies. Joe Hockey and Kevin Rudd were both way out of their comfort zones. I've just watched a classic moment of Kevin being swept down a river and Joe reaching out to stop him. Now why can't they get along like that in Canberra?

Anyway, you'll see the stories from Kokoda in about a fortnight. Simon will be putting them together.

In the meantime, he's busy getting his vocal chords warmed up for It Takes Two. Grant's new show starts this Sunday night and Simon is one of the early favourites. Of course, that comes as no surprise to us here at Sunrise because we've seen him in action. Let's just hope he gets to sing Sinatra. We're right behind you Simon!! If you want to send him a good luck note, he will get to read them because he's still doing Weekend Sunrise on Sunday morning.

Speaking of singers, the kids think I'm really cool because of two big names on the show next week. None other than Ne-Yo and Rihanna. Don't be worried if you haven't heard of them - Mel hasn't either. But you'll probably know their songs. These guys are massive now. You'll see why when they perform at Brekky Central.

Well hope everything's well with you. Have a great weekend and chat to you soon.

Cheers,
Kochie

Murphy reckons it went out live. Murphy doesn't lie.
