Okay, I think it's pretty clear I had NO IDEA the show was still going nor the status of people's speculations on the matter. As I said, a mate of mine told me about a show I care very little of and assumed was already finished. And as shown above by Barney, he's a lying scumbag and the 'they're all dead' thing is a total red-herring. This still doesn't change the fact that had the ending been what I said, it would have been a poo ending.

If you wanna know what's going on and what's not, there's plenty of Lost forums around. I wouldn't rely on here for info (and for not spoiling things) seeing as everyone's at different points in the series.

How far have you gotten so far? I'm on S2 Ep19.

Can't say I've been counting. We're in season 2.

Oh, right. I can't really say much if I don't know exactly where you are, but I think you'll agree it's shaping up very nicely, wherever you've gotten to.

Episode 14 i think.

It is shaping up nicely, but it would be nice if it was a little quicker

Like it.

So how did he survive the Hellmouth then?

He didn't. He was resurrected, in a story not unlike the one involving Angel getting resurrected at the beginning of Buffy S3. Angel gets a letter, which he opens at the end of Angel 5.1, and out of it falls the amulet thingy Spike wore at the end of Buffy. Spike then re-materialises in the middle of Angel's office, in the exact same pose he....well, combusted in, and with no idea where he is.

It turns out he's a ghost when he's first resurrected () and he's eventually "recorporealised" - their word, not mine - in about episode seven. Once again, there's no explanation of how or why that happens. He opens a parcel that has nothing in it, and then finds he's no longer a ghost. 'Tis all a little complex.

I borrowed the Angel S5 DVDs off a mate the other day....plus I'm a geek.

Wicked cheers for that. Good old Spike. I'll have to start watching Angel repeats I reckon.

I'm one of the few that didn't mind Seinfeld's last episode. I laughed my *** off when George admitted he cheated in the contest. Newman saying "You'll get yours" to Jerry was great as well.
Overall it wasn't anything special though admittedly.

Arrested Development's finale was absolute gold

Friends sucked, but it epitomised the change of that show from a great comedy into a soap opera with a few lame laughs here and there. Sad.

Six Feet Under had a horribly depressing ending, but it worked quite well for the show. Angel finished well, while Buffy was terrible, as others have said. Seinfeld wasn't much good either.

It's hard to finish a show on a high note I think. If it's a serial drama it's always going to be a bit sad, assuming the show is any good.

I was a blubbering mess, after the last episode of Family Ties.

Another top show - for it's time.

Good idea.

This discussion has inspired me to re-watch season 5 before I have to give it back, and I've just seen the moment of Spike's reappearance again. Some top dialogue:

Wesley (confused): Spike?
Angel (angry): Spike...
Harmony (who by the way is Angel's secretary, somehow):.....Blondie Bear?

Season 5 of Angel is gold. Far better than 3 and 4, which were generally poor. Spike is hilarious, particularly in the first half of the season, and there's lots of good episodes and an interesting finale.
