Why is Adelaide such a dump?

Whilst playing Cricket 2002 at work the other night, I started wondering why Adelaide gets slated on here so much.. After all, whenever I see cricket from Adelaide, the commentators seem to spend more time commenting on how fabulous the city (not to mention the ground) is.. Having never been there, I can't agree or disagree with them, and it will bug me all of tonight if I don't see some real answers..

City - Looks good.
People - Look bad, are bad.

South Australians are proof Tasmanians can swim

Seriously though, Adelaide is mostly slated because it is a) hot and b) boring. Adelaide has the driest climate of Australia's major cities (not including Darwin, hence the word major), and it can be a pretty unpleasant place to be during a hot summer. A 30 degree day in Adelaide is worse than a 40 degree day in Sydney in my experience, and that's one of the major reasons I wouldn't choose to live there again. On top of that, it's pretty slow moving compared to Sydney or Melbourne, has a pretty white bread population, and not much in the way of tourist attractions or other things of interest. It's not an ugly city or riddled with crime or anything, and for certain kinds of people its probably a very nice place to live, but you wouldn't call it exciting.

I love Shannon Grant, but McLeod trumps him.

No bad mouthing McLeod, he along with Aker are the most exciting footballers around

Rhett cannot believe the cheek of Jono rating McLeod and Aker more exciting than him.
