    Wireless Internet Question

So I get back from work, I forget to plug my network cable in, start up firefox and I can browse the internet as normal!

I have capacity for Bluetooth/Wi-fi on my laptop, but I have no account, I'm not paying anything to anyone, yet have suddenly found that I can access the internet without any cables/accounts, no nothing! All free, and its nearly broadband speed!

I have no wireless hotspots or transmitters nearby, and don't understand how I can do this!

    Any explanations?

someone else must be running a wireless network without WEP.

I started Firefox and browsed happily, and then found out my laptop wasn't connected to anything..

I don't think my neighbours have a wireless network, the signal strengh is "good" apparently, and they are through four walls about 15 metres away..

    Weird!

well Ive got a desktop PC connected to Wanadoo broadband, and I network it to my laptop when I need to..

So I could cancel that and have the Desktop PC running off my laptops connection, free of charge! I just hope it doesnt go or get cancelled!

So do they have to pay for me do you think? And although i live in a built up area, the houses are fairly spread out.. Whats the range of one of those things, it must be able to transmit through walls!
