Its a small world after all!

On my annual trip to Pakistan last month, I discovered just how small this world is. After meeting and making friends with a guy who's dad was friend's with my dad, I located the laptop at his house. As I hastily typed in the address for CricketWeb (internet time was scarce), I realised that it was labelled as a shortcut on Mozilla Firefox. Curiously I pressed this shortcut that led me automatically to Cricket Chat, looked in the top corner and found the name Tony Blade written in bold writing. I found that the older brother of my new friend was very much into cricket and I thought, damn, its a small world after all.

    You're not kidding.

Tony Blade doesn't post a lot, but when he does, they're usually very well thought out. Been around a couple of years - last post was some time last week I think.

Yep it is a small world.. When I flew to Johannesburg recently, the guy I was sitting next to on the plane happened to go to my old school (which only has 300 students)

I've got one sister. I might end up at the same University that she's currently attending.

Sorry, that wasn't relevant. I just wanted to feel included.

I should have kept my mouth shut for the next ball - mind you, it was a length ball - Lara just pulled it over the church beyond the boundary! He is a true legend."

    OK, beat this.....

In 1957, my best friend and next door neighbour in Gillingham, Kent was Hamish Estlemont.
In 1963, guess who lived at the end of our street in Kluang, Malaysia? Hamish Estlemont.
In 1965, my next door but one neighbour in Dover was Hamish Estlemont.

Same guy, or just the same name?

And how long did you live in Malaysia for?

    Same guy.

We lived in Malaysia for 3 years - start of 1962 to the start of 1965.

It's a bit of a cheat really - his dad and my dad were both in the Royal Engineers, and both were seconded into the Gurkha Engineers for a spell (the periods overlapped by about a year). It was quite common for people to be posted to the same place, but not often twice or three times in succession if they were in Married Quarters.

    Haha Jacko...

By the way, any chance in changing the title of this thread? I could do without having that song playing over in my head for the rest of the day.
