Most inspiring/moving photos you've ever seen

like the random photo thread but more serious.

    to start off with-

appeared on a rage against the machine album cover, this is a real picture of a vietnameese monk buring himself without flinching to protest against the current government.

called 'the eye of god' because of its resemblance to the human eye,a very mind-boggling picture

a montage made up of the soldiers who died in Iraq, well made and poignant.

so any more photos you find intresting/moving/inspiring posting them here would be a great idea.

I'll start off with this one. Seems a long time ago now, but at the time it did seem that there was a genuine chance of peace in the Middle East. Shame Slick Willy's there tho...

This one needs a bit of explanation. It's Private Abe Bevistein of the 11th battalion of the Middlesex regiment. A 16 year old Polish Jewish immigrant, he lied about his age & nationality to join in our Great War effort. Shell-shocked by a grenade blast he left his post & on 20/03/1916 he became one of over 300 British & Commonwealth soldiers to be shot at dawn by his own side. It strikes me as time to pardon these unfortunates and apologize to his surviving relatives for the killing of a child. His story really brought a lump to my throat.

    & on a lighter note....

"I don't believe a word of Pietersen's book, but then I don't believe a word anyone else has said either."
    - Simon Barnes renders further comment on KP's autobiography superfluous in a sentence

Most moving picture...sorry I cant post.. since it is one from my family albums. It is a picture of my two year old son holding his little brother who was just 2 days old.

I dont think I have seen anything which can top that..

Something that the world will never forget (anybody who says this is a US plotted attack makes me sick and CC I'm not having a dig at you).

Sorry but if the evidence points that way, thats the truth of it. I think there is ample evidence to conclude that the US govt. was atleast involved in a sinister way.
As they say, fact is usually stranger than fiction.

If you truly believe that, then I have some alien remains and a photograph of a 'flying rod' you might be interested in purchasing.

True, although the pictures are tragic enough on their own, Craig didn't really need to add that comment at all as it could be seen as bait.
