    Big Day Out

Just thought I'd make a thread randomly to share with you all the bands announced in the first announcement for next January's Big Day Out.

    The White Stripes
    Iggy & The Stooges
    Franz Ferdinand
    Kings of Leon
    The Mars Volta
    Soulwax
    AFI
    2 Many DJs
    Sleater-Kinney
    The Magic Numbers
    The Living End
    Gerling
    Dei Hamo

    AUS only:
    Magic Dirt
    Cut Copy
    End of Fashion
    Faker
    The Grates
    Youth Group
    Wolf & Cub

    NZ only:
    Fat Freddy's Drop
    Elemeno P
    The Bleeders
    Che Fu
    Pluto
    Frontline
    The Brunettes

So what does everyone think? I'm really excited about White Stripes, Franz, Mars Volta and Living End...but I'm hoping for some more good bands in the second announcement in a few weeks' time.

Yeah, I'd say I'm not all that wrapped up in the names thus far, but usually the best ones take more negotiation

I'd see The Mars Volta and The White Stripes... and I'd definately go and see Iggy if only to get the chance to see him do **** poor versions of the old Stooges songs, but nothing else there really grabs me.

There's a bit of a rumour that Tool will be among the second lot of bands. Not sure about others.

The Living End sounds awesome.... but theres only like 3 others besides that one. Sounds like a lot of waiting around, haha.

I'd love to go, about 95% because I love TLE, but a few of the others (Franz Ferdinand, The White Stripes) would be alright. Can't say I've heard of the others

Still a chance of Korn or the Deftones yet...2 announcements to come. But really, by the 3rd one it'll be Aus and NZ gap fillers.

If they added Maximo Park, Bloc Party or another band like Thrice or Funeral for a Friend i'd be pretty happy.

Actually, Supergrass or Stereophonics would be mean.

    Meh, so many options.
