Deal with Australian beers?
Why are Australian beers so universally loved? No Australian beer I have tasted, even comes close to being as good as the European lagers. Possibly some of the James Squire range, but they're hardly representative.
Things like Fosters, Carlton Draught, VB, XXXX, they all have that similar taste to them. Are these in the same ballpark as Stella's (or wife beaters to the Poms), Heinekens or any other European lager. I'd rather have any of these then "Australia's Finest" Crown Lager. Am I the only person who thinks these beers are very highly overrated? |

Fosters, VB, XXXX and Carlton Draught aren't the only Australian beers, even if they are the most popular ones.
I couldn't tell you why they are so popular really. Most of the time if I drink VB it's because that's what there is to drink, I certainly don't select it if I'm buying beer.

Beer's all I drink.. I know nothing about the other sorts of alcohol available..
But the general quality of mainstream Australian beers strikes me as pretty poor, when compared to the (mainstream or just export?) European ones.. |

You really are missing out. Try Johnny Walker on the rocks with a twist or a screwdriver, margaritas, cognac, etc.....beer is pretty much a 'boys night out' or 'drink while watching a sport' kinda stuff..... |

Got a bit of a sweet tooth, so into my pansy beers, but I don't particularly drink them if anything else is on offer..
Enjoy the odd Windhoek, Budweiser, Red Stripe, Miller or Castle occasionaly.. Don't like Aussie/European beers |

It comes as no surprise you drink the most expensive beers about.
