There have been many, many world leaders with good charisma. The most telling attribute IMO is an ability to provide a narrative or articulation that persuades and engages the people. And it's a lot harder to do than it seems.

Out of curiosity, what about the "Terminator" example - where humanity is under siege in an unwinnable conflict, because a new sentient life-form was initiated (by humans). If you could, would you go back and try and prevent (or delay) the creation of the technology?
Er, are you saying you killed someone yesterday?!?

    Hahaha, Craig - very true.

People aren't looking at other options here, you don't have to KILL baby hitler, you could shoot an ear for example, that in itself would change future events because he could get bullied at school or something, or it would reduce his appeal slightly as a politician.

if hitler had died at the age of two, history would've definitely evolved differently, but whether it would be better or worse is not something we can calculate in 10 secs or 100 years....fact is although millions of people were killed in ww2, mankind survived and flourished again....i would not kill the 2 year old...

Or if you had more time you somehow put the family on boat to Brazil or Argentina.

2 Shots, bam bam, one per testicle.... Baby survives, grows up, doesnt suffer from teenagst hormones, misses out on all the 'angst' and all that rubbish they spout, stops keeping a diary (a 'blog' in a book for some of you lot), doesnt try and drown his angst in art and all that faffy pap, so doesnt go and live as a bum in vienna. Stops hating jews.

Problem solved, all via the art of semi automatic castration
