    Heat wave in the US

Well for the past like 3 weeks we've had a pretty bad heat wave pretty much all across US...the temp in NJ has been in the low-mid 90's everyday...There have been a few deaths reported in the New York/New Jersey area over the last couple of weeks due to this heat wave...I heard on the local news radio station that a 40 yr old man died in his manhattan apt. due to his apt. getting overheated...hopefully this heatwave stops soon enough here...

I remember when i was travelling round Europe a couple of summers ago there was a lot of that happening, mostly old people. I think it is more than likely to increase in the future. People just don't know how to deal with the prolonged heat.

Yeah we had a bad one in S.Africa, 40C at 6,000 feet above sea level is absolutely lethal... Big one in the Uk last month, Hyde Park was an absolute dust bowl when I went, but we've had some rain and thunderstorms recently which is nice..
