Internet/Long Distance Relationships?

I know someone who is having a internet relationship with a guy... they havent met.. but are likely too... but do they really work? Im not gonna be all grumpy and say no they dont work coz i have never had an internet relationship and as the saying goes "dont knock it til u've tried it!" And im not saying that im gonna start a relationship just to test it out... But i dont know maybe they do work coz u get to know that person, but there is always that element of doubt to whether that person is telling the truth and pretending to be someone they arent... For sure the internet has made things happen for one we wouldnt have CW... I think trust is a very important thing when it comes to internet and long distance relationships... There needs to be more trust then there would be in a normal relationship (if u can call any relationship normal)... And that can cause a lot of problems if there isnt that trust...What do u guys think?

long distance relationships i would say are far morelikley to end at a given time than others.

Internet relationships i would say are far more often than not dodgy and wont work out.

I was in a long distance relationship for 21 months, ended it back in December last year. It can work, but takes a lot of patience and commitment.

Purely internet relationships without meeting the person, I'm not sure of but you hear of stories where it works so who knows.

I wouldn't trust an internet relationship as far as I can throw it.

Actually, there's only one person I've ever met in person who I initially 'met' on the internet - and that's Neil Pickup.

Let that be a warning to you all.

I actually know a couple of people who got long term relationships out of meeting people online, including one who is now actually married to a guy she met online. Long distance relationships certainly work, provided you've got the patience to handle being apart for long periods. Meeting over the internet is the same as meeting anywhere else really, although one would assume it would eventually have to progress to a real life meeting, or the relationship wouldn't hold much weight.

Long distance relationships ?
Two words: " Never again".
Unless you can afford to/want to move from one city/country to another, it is just heartache as the inevitability.
K_P, mate, relationships arnt just about getting laid.......you can get some pooh-c at the local bar or from hookers......relationship is about intimacy.
