Which fictional character would you most want to be like?

However extreme Ayn Rand made him look like, I do believe Howard Roark from The Fountainhead is the ideal man. It takes quite a bit of effort to have that kind of nonchalance for anything not related to self in this world.

What about you?

heh, my nickname at work is Harry Potter, because when i started, i was one of many christmas temps taken on.. No one could remember any of their names. So, due to my then scraggly hair and glasses, i became known as 'the one who looks like Harry Potter'

That was 4 years ago, its stuck... Despite the fact i've lasted longer than any of them who called me it in the first place, its been past down..... Its really tough trying to discipline a rubbish member of staff when they turn round and call you 'Potter'.....

i really admired roark's character for a long time as also galt, d'anconia, rearden etc from "atlas shrugged"...since then i have read some of rand's non-fictional work and learned about her lifestyle, some cracks began appearing in what seemed to be a perfect picture.....still think a lot of what she said makes sense but cannot swallow it whole like i used to in high school and the first few years of college...

Her ideology seems too Utopian. Theoretically, it's the best, but practically it can turn out to be too extreme.

As I said to Sudeep, there are characters you'd like to be, and then there are things you'd like to do.

Character that does things I'd like to do : Frodo Baggins, though I'm not too fond of losing a finger.

Character I'd like to be : Robert Langdon, he'd fit into both categories.
