what are your favourite comic book/cartoon characters?

mine would be:

dennis the menace
asterix and Obelix the gauls
tintin, captain haddock and professor calculus
the old archie comics
some of the mad comics
goofy, donald duck
.......

Garfield, sheer brilliance.

Other favorites include Homer Simpson, Kanou Kyosukie [Hungry Heart/Wild Striker] and Tintin.

i always used to like the teenage mutant nunja turtles (the old episodes)

Ah Tintin is an old favourite. Is there is anything Belgiums can't do well (ok maybe produce a better football team)? The beer, Eddy Merckx, Tintin, easy method of getting an EU passport, a hatered of French speakers (that is in Fladers), the list goes on.

Asterix and Obelix are also old favourites.

Johnny Bravo!!!! thats the funniest cartoon ever!!... well not really but its very good entertainment IMO...
Tom and Jerry is classic though and one of my all time...

Oh wait we're talking about characters.... umm then it would have to be
Kenshin Himura/ Hitokiri Battousai,The Slasher.... coolest cartoon character ever!!
