Correct you are. It would be interesting to see just how many cricket fans are also keen fishermen/women

Only ever fish once a year when we go camping on the river. I did used to do a little bit of ocean fishing down at 90 Mile Beach in Gippsland, but we don't go down there anymore, and at that age I was more interested in seeing how many times I could get dumped by the waves in a 10 minute period.

I've never been fishing and not caught a fish. Not everytime I've caught fish big enough to keep, but all the same, I have caught one everytime. That is why I haven't been fishing in over 10 years, to keep that record in check.

The color of immortality, nature and envy - you are truly a unique person. While clearly the color of nature, you also symbolize rebirth, fertility and hope in the world. On the other side of the spectrum, a natural aptitude to money with green coming to signify money and possibly even *********!

I used to be a competitive match angler (fresh water), fishing for the local club (Derby Railway) in the UK National Championships. I also ran a sea angling club.

What do you want to know? I know nearly as much about fishing as your average Norwegian.

You want roach? Centre-pin reel, No 20 hook tied to a 0.5 kg bs bottom to a 1.0 kg main line, stick float, 'shirt button' shotting (say 5 BB), loose feed hemp and a few casters, double caster on the hook. Cast directly in front of you, 'mend' the line upstream and hold the float back a little against the current. Now release, that's right, let it run down a couple of metres at the speed of the current and check the progress again. This will cause the bait to move up and down in the water. If the float's gone downstream more than 15 or so metres, reel in, toss a few more grains of hempseed and a couple of casters in the same place as before and re-cast. Repeat as applicable.

In a 5 hour match, mate, you haven't got TIME to breathe. Well, maybe when you're putting the roach in the keepnet you can draw in a couple of litres.
