Battle of the Bands

OK, this is pretty much just a rip off of a thing that Triple M (an Aus radio station) do every now and again. I'll name two bands, and in the following 24 hours people post who they want to go through to the next round. Whoever gets the most votes wins that battle, whoever loses is knocked out.

We need to establish a squad of 32 bands/artists to do battle. I'll name 32 bands now, and any changes that you'd like to see made will be considered. If you want to see a band included, then indicate who you'd like to see them replace.

32 Bands/Artists
  1. Beastie Boys
  2. Coldplay
  3. Athlete
  4. Radiohead
  5. Eminem
  6. Smiths, The
  7. Williams, Robbie
  8. U2
  9. Rolling Stones
  10. Guns 'N' Roses
  11. Timberlake, Justin
  12. Nirvana
  13. Franz Ferdinand
  14. Killers, The
  15. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
  16. Presley, Elvis
  17. Jackson, Michael
  18. Oasis
  19. Jamiroquai
  20. Matchbox 20
  21. 50 Cent
  22. Crowded House
  23. Scribe
  24. Muse
  25. Beatles, The
  26. Pearl Jam
  27. Snoop Dogg
  28. Brown, James
  29. Feeder
  30. Mars Volta
  31. Linkin Park
  32. Slipknot

Rules
  1. You may only post a vote once per battle.
  2. Only votes made within the 24 hours of the battle being declared will be counted. This will be adhered to very strictly.
  3. There will be only this thread for this competition.
  4. How this thread reads at the end of the 24 hour period is how the votes shall be registered.
  5. You have 48 hours from the time of this post to make suggestions for the make-up of the 32.

Yup, agreed. What about Slipknot for Kylie? She'll be an easybeat.

Pretty good idea...I can see Coldplay winning this from the number of fans they seem to have on here.

I'm always a bit hesitant to vote for new bands, because even if I like them now I can't be sure that they will stand the test of time. So you'll probably find me voting for the older band if I like two equally.

In behalf of myself and BoyBrumby, I'd like to see Nick Cave on the list somewhere.

Maybe to replace The Bravery.

All of the above are terrible excuses for metal. There are far superior and less gimmicky bands about.

Very happy with that. I think that "The Bravery" are covered by "The Killers".

Well, who are they to replace? Especially seeing they've released a total of 2 songs of any real note between them.

Yes, bad mistake by mine. Who to replace though?

EDIT: Put them in for Jet. I only had Jet there coz I was looking forward to them getting smashed.
