Help!

ok i am needing a little help and guidance at this moment in time,

at the current moment i am trying to install an old piece of software through dos on my old PC (win 98), the piece of software i am referring to is usm2 (ultimate soccer manager 2) i can easily begin installation through dos but then i encounter a problem, once installation begins i get a message saying that i require 486 or better in order to advance, i am not sure what this means and so am unable to advance any further, the box says that 486 DX33 is a requirement but im pretty sure my PC will have it seeing as it is more modern than the software itself.

can anyone help me solve or get around this problem?

thanks,
sledger.

Which DOS prompt are you using? The Windows based one or the actual Command Prompt that can be accessed by pressing the F8 key repeatedly during startup?

If you haven't tried it, it might be the solution to your problem.

486's are a really old type of PCs, Commodores or Amigas I think? I could be wrong though.

486 is just ye olde intel chip before the pentium came out. this was back in a time when having a 100 megabyte hard drive was something to brag to your friends about
