    New World 100m Men's Record

Well the men's 100m world record has been broken. This time by Jamaican Asafa Powell. He previously finished 5th at the Olympics. Unexpected huh? Well not really. He's been in sparkling form this season and it looked likely that this would happen. It's now 9.77 seconds the time to beat.

Cop that Maurice Green. And good to see that a legitimate 100m world record is re-established, with Powell beating Tim Montgomery's record.

the lad has been impressive since he came on to the international stage. He didn't have a great olympics but he has been in great form this season & this record will give him the world of confidence

Just to clarify. He's the same bloke who went close and was hyped up before the olympics right? Or was that another Caribbean runner?
