    Bench Press

How much can you dudes bench 3 times and how much do you weigh?

I weigh 65 kg and can do 70 kg 3 times. I'm nearly up to 75 as I can do it about 1 and a half times.

Kaspa mate u cant say that u can do i and a half reps mate it doesnt work like that. You have to work in sets of 3 with 10 reps in those sets. 1 rep doesnt mean s*it nor does 3 mate. Once u can do 3 sets of 10 then u can say that u can bench that weight. Going on your 1 rep idea i can bench 110kg once but i can only really bench 85kgs thats 3 sets of 10 reps. i weigh 77kgs

Well actually 3 reps can have benefit to his body if that is the particular weight training stage he is. The 4 stages are

    Muscular Endurance
    Hypertrophy
    Strength
    Power

Now muscular endurance phase is where you do low weights with many sets and reps. This is to build a 'base' as such to work with. Hypertrophy, which is the gaining of muscle size, is where you up the weight, lower the reps a bit, and lower the sets. In the strength and particularly power phases, you are getting the weight right up, the reps very low, and in the 'power' stage, you get the sets to a high amount.

In the 'power' stage your reps should only be 3-5 and you should be lifting 95% of your maximum. Sets should be around 5. The 'push up' should be done in a ratio of 1:3 to the 'pull down'. So if you push the weight up in 1 second, you should bring it down in 3 secs.

Therefore, Kasper could be getting something out of his 3 reps of 70kg, only if he has done his 3 stages beforehand.

Thats not bad, I think most people can bench their body weight, when I was younger I weighed 110kg and could bench 140kg

Now I am 100kg (and a little over weight) last time I tried I could only manage 90kg.

He is only 65kg remember, and I don't know how old he is, he may be quite young.

I dont think 70kg is too bad, I know many people who do less. Hell, Im the same weight as him and my max is 80kg, and thats only like 1 set of 2 reps, so I wouldn't even be having it as my power phase of weight training.
