Icon7 Right to Smoke & Right to Swear ?

Two different stories in two different countries, One in India where the government banned soking images from being shown into movies, and another one in a small village in Holland where swearing was banned and the offender's may get punished for swearing.

To me it is a violation of freedom of expression in both cases. what do you say ?

Total violation of freedom, if people chose to do it, then let them.. Hell, they are paying for their addiction in the form of massive cigarette taxation in this country.. I chose not to involve myself with either..

Though i did hear that one of the arguments against the constitution in Holland/The Netherlands was that they were worried the EU could take away their right to get high.

Swear = Yes
Smoke = No

Swearing doesn't kill you or other people, Smoking kills both.

And restricting people's right to harm themselves is more important than allowing artistic expression?

You don't think not allowing characters to smoke in films is restricting artistic expression?

It's no different from banning characters in films from taking drugs... censorship.

right...Holland are the two main provinces of holland..the Randstad as we call it. the big dutch industry cities are in holland. Zuid-Holland and Noord-Holland, so by that the important and more (Has to be said) civilised part of the Netherlands.
the rest...(remaining provinces) have big cities, but large parts are little villages.
