To those talking about Eminem earlier, he used to be an incredibly good lyricist.

Too bad he fell off harder than anyone else in the history of rap, probably barring Snoop.

As for cleverest lyric, probably something from Illmatic by Nas.

I said "That's nothing you should hear me play piano"
    I prefer:

Frankly, Mr. Shankly, this position I've held
It pays my way, and it corrodes my soul
I want to leave, you will not miss me
I want to go down in musical history

Frankly, Mr. Shankly, I'm a sickening wreck
I've got the 21st century breathing down my neck
I must move fast, you understand me
I want to go down in celluloid history, Mr. Shankly

    Fame, Fame, fatal Fame
It can play hideous tricks on the brain
But still I'd rather be Famous
Than righteous or holy, any day
    Any day, any day

But sometimes I'd feel more fulfilled
Making Christmas cards with the mentally ill
I want to live and I want to Love
I want to catch something that I might be ashamed of

Frankly, Mr. Shankly, this position I've held
It pays my way and it corrodes my soul
Oh, I didn't realise that you wrote poetry
I didn't realise you wrote such bloody awful poetry, Mr. Shankly

Frankly, Mr. Shankly, since you ask
You are a flatulent pain in the ****
I do not mean to be so rude
Still, I must speak frankly, Mr. Shankly

Oh, give us your money !

Haha, perhaps we should agree that Morrissey's work is all of a pretty high standard!

Frankly, Mr Shankly must be in my top three Smiths songs. It seems that I'm the only person here who's a fan of Morrissey's solo work.

I liked his last couple of singles, back in '04. I'm not familiar with most of his solo work, but I get the feeling I'd like it.

I've not heard a massive amount of his solo stuff, but I love his new one, You Have Killed Me. Upbeat as ever.

Nine Inch Nails - Right Where It Belongs
See the animal in it's cage that you built
Are you sure what side you're on?
Better not look him too closely in the eye
Are you sure what side of the glass you are on?
See the safety of the life you have built
    Everything where it belongs
Feel the hollowness inside of your heart
    And it's all
    Right where it belongs

    What if everything around you
    Isn't quite as it seems?
What if all the world you think you know
    Is an elaborate dream?
And if you look at your reflection
Is it all you wanted to be?
What if you could look right through the cracks?
    Would you find yourself
    Find yourself afraid to see?

What if all the world's inside of your head
    Just creations of your own?
    Your devils and your gods
All the living and the dead
    And you really are alone
You can live in this illusion
    You can choose to believe
You keep looking but you can't find the woods
While you're hiding in the trees

And, another stroke of genius from System Of A Down:
Banana, Banana, Banana, Terracotta, Banana Terracotta, Terracotta Pie
Banana, Banana, Banana, Terracotta, Banana Terracotta, Terracotta Pie
ďAnd God came down from the heavens, and he said unto the chicken, "Thou shalt cross the road."And the chicken crossed the road. And the people rejoiced, all across the land.
