I just realised that out of my 2,400-odd posts, none of them have ever been in this thread - I never actually introduced myself! So here goes.

My name's Matt, I'm 18 - study French at the University of Southampton over here in England. Yes, I know I'm insane! I've played all my cricket at school so far (but obviously I've left now), and am a poor-to-decent right-handed opening batsman who plays too many shots without enough footwork. I've only ever hit one half-century. I captained our school 3rd XI last season, and recorded our biggest win in four years (my only victory in six games - last year we won one game, by 30ish runs, and the year before we won none) by 96 runs, and our first score of over 200 (201-9, brought up by a wide in the final over ) in the same game, to which I contributed 33 - I was out after 6.3 overs, gives you an idea of my batting style! I bowl part-time off-breaks (last season's figures - 3-1-35-0) with Murali-esque turn but Udal-esque accuracy. I love my footy as well, support the not very mighty Portsmouth FC, I'm addicted to the TV show "Lost", and that's about it. I'm sure most of you have heard it all before.

Bloody hell, five smileys in one post!

Actually, we have a thread kicking around here about that. It was started by some annoying Englishman with a pretty stupid avatar himself.

Blame the avatar challange for that. It comes down on Xmas day, and hopefully some England player will have given me cause to pick them by then.

You don't expect people to actually read that do you?

Only kidding, welcome Paddy.
