I'm 15 and from Chester, England, currently in my 4th year at high school. I play cricket for both the school team and a local club. Attempting to bowl leggies I tend to get smashed around a bit, but I'm told my googly is probably much harder to play than my leg break! When I bat I either get out quickly and score not a lot, or bat ages and still score not a lot (I have among my achievements a 36 ball duck and a 13 over 0* (admittedly we were playing for a draw)). I also play football (right back for the school team) and am a football referee (not bad pay at £12 a game). I've followed cricketweb for about a year and finally plucked up enough courage to register, inaugurating the Official Bangladesh Domestic Season thread.

Welcome, as for nicknames, JJ comes to mind, but Larry would be far more clever

Welcome, Thomas.

I came to that conclusion immediately, seeing as you misspelled 'Thomas' in your userid.

I only know one person whose name is spelt that way (economical with the aitch) - Tomas Leandersson, the tenpin bowler. You're in good company.

I'll add Tomas Gustafsson. Olympic champion at speed skating in 1988 and Sweden's last good skater who didn't wield a stick.

Skater, noun

A Scandinavian skilled at catching skate.

And a stick used for catching skate is called a rod.
