Bizzare News: Women Jailed For Stealing Boyfriends Ashes

April 8, 2005, 5:33:10 An American woman sent to prison last week for stealing her late ex-boyfriend’s ashes as well as a packet of cigarettes and bottle of beer that had been buried with him.

Karen Stolzmann, from Wisconsin, was caught by two grave diggers excavating the coffin encased ashes of Michael Hendrickson and taking the two items which he insisted he wanted buried with him.

The 44-year-old woman was sentenced to 60 days in jail after pleading no contest to charges of theft . The ashes have been returned to Michael’s grieving family.
