Been dragging their feet a bit, haven't they?

Unless they're just trying to build up suspense a bit...

Bloody hell, watching it live on Foxtel, it's really annoying, although I really don't care who it is.

How do they decide what the Pope is known as? Do they just make it up as they go along??
[Edit: turns out he gets to choose his name. Lucky.]
Don't know how long Ratzinger will last - he's 78 years old I think.

ah well, cometh Gloria olivć (Glory of the Olive), 111th(AAARRGHH!!! Nelson! Run, Shep!!) and last of St Malachy's prophesised popes.

Next up (apparently) is Peter the Roman, who'll lead the Catholics at the end of the world:
In persecutione extrema S.R.E. sedebit Petrus Romanus, qui pascet oves in multis tribulationibus: quibus transactis civitas septicollis diruetur, & Judex tremędus judicabit populum suum. Finis.

Translation: In extreme persecution, the seat of the Holy Roman Church will be occupied by Peter the Roman, who will feed the sheep through many tribulations, at the term of which the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the formidable Judge will judge his people. The End

That gay one is really bad for your plans to join the Catholic Church, isn't it Neil
    Or something.

    He was a Hitler youth?

And gays, abortion and condoms were all deeply ingrained as wrong across Catholicism for a long time. I suppose him still being against them is just a sign of his age, he won't suddenly change his mind at 78/79. Gradually Catholicism is growing to accept them, though not liking them.
i personally have no problem with gays and condoms, but abortion is just wrong.
