    Journalism and Writing.

Does anyone else here have aspirations to become a journalist?

What about writing, does anyone else here write?

As I have already mentioned before I am writing a book at the moment.

If there is any interest from anyone I will tell you more about it. It is 17,000 words so far which equates to about 50 pages

Ummm, kinda - in so much as I'm already a journalist.

Doing general news at the moment, but want to move into sports.

I'm considering trying to go into sports journalism...my sister is already a journalist and my dad did a bit of it too so hopefully the ability to do it runs in the family. Love watching all sports (with a couple of exceptions, boxing for example) so it really would be the perfect job for me if I could end up doing it.

I do have aspirations to pursue it as a part-time career. I've been writing for my Uni magazine, CW and once a while for the local paper supplement here, although I'd love to do some course in journalism after I complete with my Chemical Engineering study.

I would love to have done journalism but I'm probably too old to change careers.

I still have dreams of either writing a book or screenplay one day.

How old are you? I had people in their mid-30s doing the course with me.

My sister writes for the most circulated daily paper in the country (not by landslide though). She gets a pretty decent salary for it too, but we won't get into that now.

I've got a good chance of taking over her job when she leaves for Uni in September actually. I'm not sure I want to get that much into the "system" in my year off, but we'll see how it goes. I enjoy writing and am supposedly exceptional at essay-writing. I'm considering doing some sort of journalism course alongside my major.

    Me,me, me!

Already done Psych at uni though so am not sure I should go back and do journalism. Wrote a travel journal while away that turned into a major production (even if it was just for myself and my friends) - I've been encouraged to write but am aged so don't know about the change in direction. My edition on Sweden looks like being around 66 pages , so I'm not sure whether that's writing or verbal diarrhea.

Would love to be a foreign correspondant though, or sports journalist, or travel writer.

I definitely have aspirations about becoming a journalist, I still have many options though so I'm still unsure as to where my future will lead.

Out of interest, what's the main idea of this book you're currently writing?

I have a journalism degree, but when I graduated I was only 20 and not prepared to move to the country or interstate to get a job. I took a year and a half off and am now in my 3rd year of Education. At least I will have many options.

The color of immortality, nature and envy - you are truly a unique person. While clearly the color of nature, you also symbolize rebirth, fertility and hope in the world. On the other side of the spectrum, a natural aptitude to money with green coming to signify money and possibly even *********!

General gist of everyone I've contacted either directly or on my behalf has been experience, experience, experience.

You'll never go straight in at the top, and long stints of experience in local newspapers or radio will always be the starting points for 99% of journalists' careers.

I've been writing for CW for three years, wrote for and edited the school newspaper, write for the University newspaper, present on Uni radio, have contributed to commercial radio in Exeter, and am doing work experience at the Exeter Express & Echo in June.

I urge all interested to fill in a CW.net "Join the Team" form.
