CW Chooses the Top 20 Albums

Yesterday ok computer my favourite album came top of the 100 greatest albums poll on channel 4 im sure many disagree but i think it deserved its place on the pointless yet interesting chart. A superb album with an increadible atmoshpere to it. U2s joshua tree is suppose is fair enough to be second with Nirvanas nevermind 3rd probably overated but i can see there is something special about it.

Radiohead. It's a very good album, but not even their best IMO.

I'd take The Bends over it every time.
Cricket Web's 2013/14 Premier League Tipping Champion

    - As featured in The Independent.

"as much a news event as an actual footballer, a worthy stop-start centre forward, but an all-time hyper-galactico when it comes to doing funny things with cars and hats, a player whose signing proves once again that the Premier League is still undoubtedly the best in the world when it comes to doing things with cars and hats."
    - Barney Ronay on Mario Balotelli

Yeah I think The Bends is better..then again I really liked Pablo Honey (havent listened to it for a long long time though)..that said, the first three songs on OK Computer are spot on, but after those, it kind of tails off a bit.

Since that album I really cant be arsed with them anymore.

I cant really figure out how Revolver came so low(is Appetite For Destruction really better than Revolver)

Is Urban Hymns really better than Are You Experienced? (answer is NO btw)

    Rio better than Pet Sounds???

Debut better than Let It Bleed???

Brothers In arms better than Doolittle??

Play better than 3 feet High and Rising???

Jeez, Tommy by the Who probably isnt in the top 4 best Who albums...and Sheer Heart Attack, song for song is better than A Night At The Opera in my book anyway.

A good talking point if nothing more these polls (how come the first I ever get to hear about these things is when the results come out!!!!???)

Regarding Radiohead, I do think Hail to the thief is a bit of a return to form; not prime Radiohead, but at least they actually condescended to write some tunes. Kid A was probably as disappointed as I've ever been with an album. I really tried hard to like it too!

All of these "best of" charts are flawed; too much received wisdom. &, I'm sorry, The Joshua Tree is not the 2nd best album ever!

I don't expect to see Husker Du, Thin White Rope or American Music Club in these things, but no Astral Weeks?!?! No Van Morrisson at all, come to that! No Pogues, Kinks (surely to Christ Village Green Preservation Society is one of the top 100 albums?!?), Iggy Pop, Echo & The Bunnymen, New Order, Nick Cave.....

& if Horses is there, why not Marquee Moon, a far more realised album?!

My top four albums (Tourist, Comfort in Sound, Absolution and Give Up) don't even make the top 100!

    Amazed Absolution didn't feature

Yep; jeez I'm predictable! I must be the only person in the western world who reached his teenagehood in the 80s who didn't buy Thriller!
