Whatever Happened to...?

Do you ever read or hear something about someone and think "what happened to him/her?"

I came up with this thread so that our combined intellects can help people find out about what happened to that person, whoever it may be.

I was wondering if anyone knew what happened to Australian Rugby League player Darrell Trindall, who, 10 minutes into his St Helens debut in 2000, went off injured and never played for the team again. Anyone know?

He's back playing in the lower grades at South Sydney trying to make a comeback of sorts. It won't be long before he's back on the coke.

I can see why Merseyside over here would've appealed then!

On the Autralian theme, whatever happened to Yahoo Serious & The Divinyls (sp?)? Both briefly flickered into the Northern Hemisphere's cultural radar & then disappeared.

There never was any.

Otherwise, there'd be more than one Monopolies Commission.

Yahoo Serious had his 15 minutes of fame. He had an absolute cracker of a hit with Young Einstein (sp). He tried to replicate that in a few other movies, which had moderate success at best, not quite sure what he's up to now.

The Divinyls, as far as I know have broken up. They were really big in the 80s, and had maybe 1 or 2 hits in the 90s. There songs get played in movies all the time, probably the most recent was 'I Touch Myself' which was used in Austin Powers.

That's their only song I know of.

She looked quite saucy IIRC, albeit with iffy teeth. Maybe it was just the subject matter tho...

They are playing the Woodstock Festival up here in Queensland. They had possibly the worst song ever with 'Get Set' which only got picked up on that Reese Witherspoon movie because they were recording in L.A. and someone heard it, unfortunately for them, but fortuneately for everyone else none of their other songs were any good, which is why their stay at the top was only for about a week.

Check out their website - http://www.divinyls.com/js/index.html

The lead singer is about 50+ now, but in her day...boy!

Yahoo Serious bought out 'Mr Accident' in 2000..... when you think about it, it's disapointing how he managed to make a living out of being a bone head infront of a camera...
