Matthew Johns - his best incarnation

Those in Australia (especially the northern states) will be quite familiar with Matthew Johns' characters on the NRL footy show. With the rising prominence of Randy Discotelli, I started wondering, while Reg Reagan is an icon, is he starting to get a bit on the nerves of the regular watchers? Is Travis too much of a stereotype to have long term appeal? Or is it what is familiar is what is best? Who's your favourite Johnsy character, or do you think that the only attention that he should get is at Centrelink?

Got Reggie's book recently. Pretty funny, even if it is just the same gags over and over.

Personally loved how he got his guernsey in the Australian cricket side. Very stiff not to go on.

Interesting to see this by a Victorian. Are Matthew Johns' antics fairly well known in Melbourne? Or are you in the minority of Victorians who don't mind league?

His best incarnation was Matthew Johns, the rugby league player. I actually liked him back then. Since he retired, he has been dire.
