Healthy diet

What would you recommend as part of a healthy diet for a day.

How much of healthy food do you eat and which ones.

Cheers

I don't eat healthily, too much red meat, too little fresh fruit + veg..

I do however, and fully recommend, drinking a lot of water, getting lots of fresh air and exercise..

well all healthy diets involve breakfast for a start (an awful lot of people i know skip it)

healthy breakfast: some sort of cereal without too much sugar, this means no fruit loops, coco pops or alike :P

Morning tea: not something i usually eat, umm a cup of tea or coffee and a buiscut

Lunch: Sandwich with either salad or meat on it (or a combo )

afternoon tea: whatever i have cereal, milo, buiscuts, cool drink or 2

dinner: meat and 3 veg

desert: not too much

well i don't even try to eat healthily and i've not had to go to the doctor since i was 7 and nor have i missed a day a work/uni/school through illness since i was 14. Touch wood

I generally eat cereal, sandwiches, then a hot meal. snacks in between

as age noted there, its important that you have 6 meals a day, the 3 main ones, with little snacks inbetween them. you can have ur normal everyday food, like chicken (just skinless), meat (fat cut off), and bread (but a max of 6 slices per day). Its important to have plenty of fruit, things like grapes and oranges are the best, drink water instead of soft drinks and go for a walk everyday (minimum 45 minutes)

Hard to say what a healthy meal is for every person because people have different deficiencies.

A way to find out; mix the following:

100g Linseeds
100g Pumpkin seeds
100g Sunflower seeds
400g Oats

Leave overnight to soaking in organic rice milk. In the morning add;

100g Brazil nuts
100g Blanched almonds
75g Walnuts

That makes a HEAP of breakfast cereal. If you eat some of that for a few mornings (that's probably at least a week's worth of breakfast) and feel like there's stuff you need to add to make it palatable, that's what you're getting too much of. For example, if you feel like you need to add sugar/honey, it's time to cut back on your sugar intake.
