Firefox is far, far better, children.

Some of the features:
- A "tab" system that allows you to look in multiple web pages in one window (uses much less memory)
- Automatic blocking of popups and ads, no questions asked
- If you lack necessary software to view a certain web page (eg Flash player) it searches for it automatically and offers to download it for you
- Customizable skins for a smoother look
- General smoother ride, less lockups and freezings

Firefox has speed, ease of use and genuine security options (as opposed to ones which crackers can bypass anyway) as things you can muck around with over IE. But what it also has over IE (in my opinion) is its open-source philosophy, not tightly integrated to an OS (slightly slower load-up speeds but far batter security) and things like tabbed-browsing, etc.

But hey, best way to know would be to download it and give it a go;

http://mozilla.org

p.s. there's another thing it has over IE; consistency over different OS's. Linux's Moz is the same as Windows is the same as Mac's, etc. IE on Mac and IE on WIndows give a VASTLY different user experience (IE on Mac is far more standards compliant).

Not that I care anyway; I use Epiphany in Linux.

Firefox every time, i can't stand public computers with IE, i always end up clicking links with the roller thinking its going to open the page in the new tab but it gets me no where. Firefox is quicker and has loads more features, wins hands down, just takes a few days to get used to which puts a lot of people off.

Firefox everytime. I was sceptical before I changed but now I hate every minute I have to use IE on other computers.
Ad blocking is definitely a good feature and tabbed browsing too. We're starting a campaign at Uni to have Firefox as the default Uni browers and not IE. It's not even installed atm.

Most of my friends have no idea what Firefox is, my cousin just told me it's better and put it on here. Though he doesn't use it either.

Tabbed browsing is CW's best friend.

I'm trying out the new skins. I love the one I'm using at the moment. Everything looks like wood.

Basically, it means that you can surf x web pages in the same window, instead of having to open 20 IE windows (thus wrecking the Start bar).
