    Loony Hamster

    My brother left his hamster with us when he went down to London for a job interview / trial.

    The hamster has learnt how to open his cage and get out if we don't put a heavy book on him.

    2 nights ago we forgot and he got behind a wardrobe that was tight up against the wall.

    That was easy compared to today when he managed to get into the gas fire.

    My suggestion of turning it on to reduce his size and make him easier to retrieve was overlooked in favour of taking the whole thing apart.

    Anyone know how to put a gas fire back together?

    Hahaha good one marc, can't help you on that one. That once happened to our (ex) hamster, we found (or rather heard) him in the piano, mischevious little bugger.

    wow. sounds like a cool hampster. im impressed by the fact that you used the word 'loony.' ive not heard that been used other than in reference to cartoons for a long long time.

    Loony is a word that makes me laugh, mainly because it has 'loo' in it. I'm quite immature really.

    What's the difference between a hamster and a guinea pig? Apart from that the guinea pig comes from Guinea (which I actually don't know the whereabouts of...I know Papua New Guinea...but I'm guessing that's different, newer maybe...anyway I'm going off topic now and I should probably put the other bracket in soon and finish this post...now will do).

    Hamster's tend to be about 3 inches long whereas Guinea pigs are about 9inches.

    Tiny one below is a hamster and all the others are guinea pigs. I used to have 2 guineas, a ginger one and fluffy white one like in the pics but one day a fox got in to the run and killed them when i was about 9. Got back from school to find their remains on the lawn, traumatised or what!!

    actually i dont think it does come from guinea. and its definetely not a pig
