I'm not sure if howardj is being deliberately obtuse or what, but the point is sort of that, normally, it's the woman's choice to have an abortion. I mean, assuming that most women don't choose to get stabbed...
Making some false equivalence between the two is sketchy at best, and downright insane at worst.

They're bound to be proud if they're middle class and can afford to have them and they had a good old fashioned chin wag before hand about whether they wanted a baby or not. I mean, you've made the massive assumption of using the plural "parents". How many abortions are actually made in examples of steady, long term relationship based couples. I'd like to see the statistics on that. I mean, if you're basing your argument on the "pride" being exuded by a plurality then I think you might be referring to the very smallest of proportions of the 'market' for abortions.
I can't help get the feeling that giving women the right to choose their fate in live scares the living bejeesus out of a good number of pro lifers. I mean, after all, find me a male pro-lifer who doesn't show a huge amount of pride in the strength of his convictions in keeping the little women in their place.

Really proud. About the baby that's going to come. And the difference is someone else violating your body vs. you making a decision that you do not want to physically and psychologically bear the pregnancy. And I don't believe you are killing a 'kid'.

Also stop making me be a pedant about use of language, as I'm going to **** up and leave it open for you to rip the hell outta me for exactly the same thing, as I'm rubbish. Anyway, back to my idea of charging for abortions, or even better, bring in breeding licences. Fail the 'decent citizen' twice and you get sterilized. Think that'd solve quite a few issues, not just this one. Would probably save the next generation of CWers from reading some properly dire tour threads too.

Well it was a pretty ****ing blatant straw man. If it was you you'd have invented a back-story about howardj's babysitter putting in him in a microwave when he was little and baddening up his wee head, then used it to avoid engaging with anything he'd said at all.

Should we also refer to spades as specialised non-mechanical manual sediment removal devices, then? Not everyone has time to explain exactly what a straw man is every time they see it.
